Haruko and Kate - Sugimori Style

This is what I've been doing instead of studying for finals. >.>

I've been wanting to try to relearn Ken Sugimori's style for a while. I learned to draw anime copying (literally eyeballing) his drawings, mostly out of the Pokemon Sapphire instruction guide. Eventually I copied from the Pokemon anime, and finally stopped doing that and developed my own style, but since then..I haven't been able to draw Pokemon characters and have them look quite right. So I went back to that, studied his drawings, and attempted my own.

I absolutely love Ken Sugimori's stye! It's so funny, looking at it now, because I can see elements of it in my own style, obviously left over from way back then. Like how I hate dealing with wrinkles in clothing, the way I design shoes, my forehead issue, etc. >w>

Obviously I'm not perfect at drawing in his style, but...could be worse. I'm rather proud of these. My Pokemon OCs, Kate you may know, on the right. And Haruko on the left, he's been in some sketch dumps, and he's honestly one of my favorite OCs, I just...never finish art of him. Working on that, though....
Yes, I know Haruko's a girl name. I didn't know that 6 years ago when I designed him. It's much to late for me to change it now...

Because I'm in love with this style/bored, offer to my WATCHERS: Have a Pokemon OC? Can I draw them in Sugimori style?? Please? Post a link to refs, unless you know I already know them.
